It is believed that by educating youth with regard to the importance of joining the Donate Life Registry the ever-widening gap between the escalating number of transplant candidates on the waiting list and lifesaving donations will be narrowed.

In California:

(1)–high school students applying for their first drivers license have an opportunity to join the organ and tissue donor registry while their parents have 100% authority for all decisions until the student turns 18 years of age.

(2)–Transplantation and organ donation will be included in the health and science curriculum standards guide now that California’s Assembly passed  Assembly Bill 1967. Learning about the science behind donation and the miracle of transplantation can encourage students to share their decision with their family and friends.

I don’t think many would debate number two and I’d like to know how you feel about number one.

Thanks to Donate Life California for this video presentation.
